Day of Giving Begins at Midnight!

March 19, 2024 — The clock is ticking! We’re less than 24 hours away from Marist’s first-ever Day of Giving, officially underway on March 20 at midnight ET. Red Foxes from around the world will Rise Together in person or online for this groundbreaking fundraising initiative aimed to galvanize the entire Marist community around the profound impact of philanthropy.

Our goal? 1,000 donors in 24 hours.
Your role? Make a gift. Share your story. Celebrate!

Online donors are encouraged to lend their support by making a gift of any amount and sharing their stories on social media using the hashtags #MaristDayOfGiving and #RedFoxesRiseTogether. Donation progress will be tracked in real time, allowing contributors to see the impact of their gift and participate in challenges throughout the day.

"Join us on this incredibly exciting and historic day," said Chris DelGiorno, Vice President for College Advancement at Marist. "Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students and ensure that Marist continues to thrive for generations to come."

The Day of Giving will also span across local communities through a series of in-person events. From on-campus gatherings for students, faculty, and staff to regional celebrations hosted by alumni volunteers, the spirit of giving will be palpable far and wide.

On campus, community members are invited to pick up some new swag, send thank-you notes to donors, and celebrate the importance of philanthropy through a dining hall takeover, an ice cream “scoop” social, and more.

Eight alumni volunteers will also host regional celebrations, extending the reach of our Day of Giving beyond campus and into their communities. The complete Day of Giving schedule can be found here

The first 1,000 Red Foxes who donate $100 or more will snag a pair of limited edition Day of Giving Fox Socks designed by MPorium fashion student Ryann Lambert '26. And thanks to a generous donor, seniors can get their socks for a donation of $20.24 in honor of their class year.

All gifts can be directed to specific areas of the College that donors wish to support via the Day of Giving website, including various athletic appeals, the Track and Turf Field, Presidential Fund for Equity in the Marist Experience, the Parents Fund, or the Senior Class Legacy. Donors can also give directly to the Marist Fund.

Reflecting on his decision to donate early to the Senior Class Legacy, James Sladky '24 expressed his commitment to the tradition of giving back, saying, “I made my senior class gift, just like previous classes did for me, because by giving back to the Marist Fund, I am supporting scholarships, research, and resources that empower students to reach their full potential.”
